Design for America: fall 2018–2019
Design for America is an idea incubator, a way of approaching complex challenges, and a life-long community of learners. DFA equips the next generation of social innovators through student-led & run university studios that practice design thinking and innovation to tackle social challenges on their campus and community.
As a graduate student, I co-founded the Texas State DFA Studio where, behind the scenes, I prepared and promoted recruitment sessions, created a studio website and directed further development, planned the annual and weekly schedules, and liaised with the DFA National Network.
In-studio I taught and facilitated the human-centered design process, coordinated studio and community partner contact, worked in project research and iteration, coordinated cross-campus collaboration and recruitment, engaged the event team in project exhibition, and facilitated studio leadership transition.
